The actor and singer says years of nonstop travel, acting projects and music commitments have taken a toll on his health, forcing him to put his career on pause and focus on recovery.
Pakistani actor and singer Danyal Zafar has announced a temporary break from showbiz, revealing that an exhausting work schedule over the past two years has left him with little choice but to prioritise his health.
The Raqaas and Zanjeerain actor shared the news through an Instagram story featuring a picture of an intravenous infusion bag. Explaining the reason behind his decision, Zafar opened up about the relentless pace of his professional life, admitting that balancing his acting and music careers had pushed him beyond his limits.
According to the singer, the past two years have been a constant cycle of travelling, shooting, performing at shows and recording music. With commitments spread across different places, he rarely had the opportunity to stay in one location for more than a few days, leaving little room for proper rest or recovery.
Describing the experience of managing two demanding careers simultaneously, Zafar called it “a tumultuous feat” and acknowledged that the pressure had finally caught up with him. He revealed that he had reached a breaking point and had been advised to put his well-being ahead of his professional responsibilities.
“I’ve been ordered to put my health above everything else for now,” he shared, making it clear that he intended to take that advice seriously.
The actor further announced that all his professional commitments would have to wait while he focused on getting better. “Everything must go on hold,” he said, explaining that he needed time to rest, recover and return to full health before resuming his work.
The announcement comes at a particularly busy time for Danyal, who was preparing to release his upcoming studio album, STORMS & Serenity, on Saturday. Alongside his music career, he has also been exploring his acting abilities, recently appearing as the lead character in two television dramas: Raqaas, which aired on Green Entertainment, and Zanjeerain, broadcast on HUM TV.
However, the latest update suggests that maintaining this demanding pace has come at a considerable personal cost. He had previously offered a glimpse into his struggles in an Instagram post dated October 6, when he spoke about falling ill amid his packed schedule. Recalling the experience of battling a fever, he described feeling “alive” yet “broken”, acknowledging that his body needed a break.
Despite feeling unwell, the singer revealed at the time that he had not taken a single day off after spending 415 days on the road. He also expressed gratitude to his fans, crediting their support with giving him the strength to keep going despite the physical and mental strain of his commitments.
