Wajahat Rauf announces ‘Daghabaaz Dil’ with Pakistani stars Mehwish Hayat, Ali Rehman Khan, and Momin Saqib in 2024, revealed on Instagram breakfast post.
Renowned for hosting the popular web talk show Voice Over Man, Wajahat Rauf has built notable partnerships with each of his leading cast members in the past. Having directed Mehwish Hayat in the 2019 feature film Chhalawa, collaborated with Ali Rehman Khan in the 2022 movie Parde Mein Rehne Do, and worked with Momin Saqib in the highly acclaimed 2020 drama series Raqs-e-Bismil, Rauf brings a seasoned understanding of his cast’s talents to his latest project, ‘Daghabaaz Dil.’ This upcoming film promises to showcase the collective brilliance of the trio on the big screen in 2024.
In the post’s caption, Rauf joyously called Daghabaaz Dil his “Film # 5” and proceeded to announce the upcoming film’s release for Eid ul Fitr, 2024. On a humorous note, the director-actor added a ‘post-script’ to his caption, saying, “Had to wake up early today, excuse the face.”
Intriguing Title of the Movie
Rauf, showcasing his directorial expertise, has appointed Mohsin Ali as the writer, while Badar Ikram, Rauf, and his wife, Shazia Wajahat, serve as producers for the film. Although specific plot details remain undisclosed, the captivating title ‘Daghabaaz Dil’ hints at a narrative that intertwines romance with a genuine exploration of human relationships. With this stellar cast in play, audiences can look forward to experiencing a rollercoaster of emotions and laughter.

‘Mera Lyari’ put forward for oscar nomination race
Pakistani film Mera Lyari produced under the banner of the Sindh government, has entered the race for an Oscar nomination.
Sindh Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport, and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon chaired a meeting of the Information Department’s Film Board to review the development. Officials evaluated the progress of provincial film initiatives, active projects, future strategies, and partnerships with OTT streaming platforms.
The board confirmed the completion of the first phase of film projects managed by the Information Department.
Discussions are going on with national and international OTT platforms and institutions to secure screening, distribution, and promotional partnerships for the lineup.
“The inclusion of the film ‘Mera Lyari’ in the race for an Oscar nomination brings honour to Pakistan, particularly Sindh,” Memon stated during the meeting. “If the film secures an Oscar nomination, the outcome will mark a milestone and present the art, culture, and creativity of Sindh on the global stage.”
Memon added that the government aims to establish Sindh as a hub for filmmaking while offering local talent access to national and international opportunities.
Information Secretary Kashif Gulzar Sheikh, Director General Information Moez Pirzada, Director Films Hizbullah Memon and board members Waqas Rizvi, Salim Khan, Ehtesham Ansari, and Rab Nawaz attended the meeting alongside department officials.
