Asif Raza Mir Makes a Powerful Comeback in ‘Gangs of London’

Asif Raza Mir reprises his role as Asif Afridi in Season 3 of the British television series Gangs of London. A recently released teaser confirms his return, showing Asif lounging alone, possibly scheming fresh grabs for power.

While the teaser offers only a glimpse, fans eagerly anticipate what the Pakistani actor will bring to the screen this time.

Joe Cole, Sope Dirisu, and Michelle Fairley are also set to return, as confirmed alongside Mir. According to Deadline, the season’s synopsis reveals, “Chaos erupts in London after a spiked shipment of cocaine kills hundreds, bringing fan-favourite characters into conflict with new faces bound by blood ties. Brutal power struggles, unexpected alliances, and fierce rivalries emerge.”

The drama series has added new cast members, including Andrew Koji, Richard Dormer, and T’Nia Miller. Koji plays an assassin, Dormer takes on a significant role from the past, and Miller steps in as the new Mayor of London—a formidable obstacle for the gangsters.

Reflecting on the show in a 2020 interview with CTV, Mir described Gangs of London as a crime series that delves into family, emotions, and backstories. Comparing Pakistani productions to British ones, the 65-year-old actor noted that while Western media leans toward subtlety, Pakistani dramas tend to be more melodramatic and expressive.
