Renowned singer Atif Aslam revealed that he hasn’t listened to music in many years, but the story behind this revelation is captivating. Imagine a teenage boy in an empty house, his voice echoing in the quiet space. This moment was when Atif Aslam discovered his passion for music, shaping his life forever.
“I realized it when my parents moved, leaving our house empty. I went to the upper portion of the vacant house and started singing. When I hit a high note, I got scared, wondering what just happened. I quickly shut the doors and came downstairs,” Atif shared in his vlog Welcome to My Borderless World.
The Aadat singer admitted he initially kept his passion a secret. “I didn’t tell anyone and kept practicing in that room,” he said. Despite his fear, he was drawn back to singing. “At that time, I didn’t understand the technical or mechanical aspects of singing. Gradually, I met people who guided me, teaching me about composing songs, writing lyrics, and making videos,” he recalled.
Reflecting on his beginnings, Atif revealed, “I think I was 14 when I started working towards singing.” He described music’s profound influence, saying, “Music has had such an impact on my life that I can’t imagine living without it. Life would feel empty without music.” Yet, he also disclosed a surprising detail: he hadn’t listened to music for many years.
“Interestingly, I hadn’t listened to music in years. But now, I’ve started listening to it again, and I’m rediscovering joy in it,” Atif shared.
