Who is Arshad Nadeem?
Arshad Nadeem is a Pakistani javelin thrower who made history as the reigning Olympic champion in Men's javelin throw, setting an Olympic record with a throw of 92.97 meters at the 2024 Summer Olympics. A two-time Olympian, he became the first Pakistani to qualify for the final of any track and field event at both the Olympic Games and the World Athletics Championships.
At the 2022 Commonwealth Games, he broke both the national and Commonwealth Games records with a throw of 90.18 meters, becoming the first South Asian athlete to surpass the 90-meter mark. In 2023, he further cemented his legacy by winning a silver medal at the World Athletics Championships, making him the first Pakistani to win a medal at the event. He represents WAPDA in domestic competitions and capped off his achievements with a gold medal and a new Olympic record at the 2024 Olympics.
