Actress Faryal Gohar has made serious allegations of domestic violence against her former husband, actor Jamal Shah, including claims of physical abuse, miscarriages and strict restrictions during their marriage.
Shah has strongly denied the allegations and offered a different account of the couple’s separation.
Gohar discussed her experience during an appearance on a morning show, while Shah later responded through a series of posts on X.
Speaking to host Nida Yasir, Gohar said she experienced domestic abuse during her marriage and claimed that she was subjected to violence on several occasions.
She alleged that she was beaten with a leather belt and kicked on her back and kidneys. According to Gohar, the injuries were serious enough to require kidney surgery. The actress also claimed that the violence contributed to the loss of one of her pregnancies.
Actress links second miscarriage to alleged violence
Gohar said the abuse continued during another pregnancy, when she was expecting twins. She claimed that the situation eventually became unbearable and that, following another miscarriage in which she lost the twins, her gynaecologist urged her to leave the marriage.
