First Look of Malala’s Debut Web Series Finally Unveiled

Malala

Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai’s first images from her cameo role in Nida Manzoor’s critically acclaimed British comedy “We Are Lady Parts” have been released, promising an exciting treat for viewers.

“We Are Lady Parts” chronicles the highs and lows of a Muslim-women punk band. The latest images feature Malala dressed in a blue gown, sitting atop a horse, and completing her look with a cowgirl hat.

Malala Yousafzai in New Season

Following a successful first season, the show returns for season 2 on May 30. For her cameo, Malala joins band members Anjana Vasan (“Wicked Little Letters,” “Black Mirror”), Sarah Kameela Impey (“Vera,” “Halcyon Heights”), Juliette Motamed (“Halo,” “Magic Mike’s Last Dance”), Faith Omole (“An Ideal Husband,” “Endeavour”), and Lucie Shorthouse (“Rebus,” “Henpocalypse!”).

Series two sees the band return with a renewed artistic mission after the high of their first UK tour, only to find a rival band threatening to overthrow everything they have worked for. As the reality of chasing success comes crashing down upon them, the band members start to question whether striking it big in the music world is something they truly want.

In an earlier interview, creator Manzoor, who based the show on her own experiences, said that the new season will explore the interior lives of all the women on the show in greater depth. “Each of them facing new, existential challenges with all the silliness, pratfalls and banter of season one,” she explained.

Tasked with creating more original music for the show, the director furthered, “The music is bigger too – more wild original tunes (penned by me and my siblings) and dare I say it, even better covers.”

You can stream all six episodes of the first season of “We Are Lady Parts” on Peacock and Channel 4 in the UK. Working Title Television (WTTV), part of Universal International Studios and a division of Universal Studio Group, produces the show.

Danish Taimoor and Sarah Khan are starring together for the first time in Sher written by Zanjabeel Asim Shah and directed by Aehsun Talish. This was a highly anticipated show since it was announced. The drama’s first teaser is out now and we are introduced to the two fierce characters in an action-packed sequence.

The first teaser of the drama dropped with Danish Taimoor in his signature angry young man avatar entering the scene with a gun in his hand. Sarah Khan is also wearing a ghagra choli and she has her own gun. The leading duo points their guns at each other and we are communicated as viewers that they belong to two waring clans.

But the scene reminded us of a very popular pop culture reference. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are two Bollywood stars who are married to each other. They started their reel and real life love story with the film Ram Leela and they had a scene which we got to see in the Sher teaser as well.
