The specter of intolerance has once again manifested in India, casting a shadow over the anticipated Atif Aslam's Bollywood comeback . As reported by various Indian media outlets, including Mid Day and India TV News, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), led by Raj Thackeray, has issued a stern caution to Bollywood producers contemplating the inclusion of the celebrated Pakistani singer in their projects.
Hindu Right-Wing Leaders Oppose Atif Aslam's Bollywood Comeback
Ameya Khopkar, the President of MNS Cinema Wing, delivered a blunt message against the inclusion of Pakistani artists in Indian projects. "Pakistani artists will not be tolerated here. Never," he declared emphatically. Khopkar, who previously opposed the release of the Pakistani film The Legend of Maula Jatt, reasserted the MNS's unwavering stance and challenged industries across India to refrain from engaging Pakistani artists; his explicit warning resonated with the party's historical position on this matter.
Khopkar specifically directed his warning at Bollywood producers considering Atif Aslam for their projects. He urged them to reconsider their decisions, reminding them of the party's uncompromising stance. "Word of caution: DO NOT make the mistake of accepting this challenge," he cautioned, signaling potential complications for Aslam's reported involvement in the upcoming film Love Story of 90s.
