Pakistani television and film actor Humayoun Ashraf recently opened up about a frightening mobile snatching incident that left him injured, during his appearance on a show.
He is known for his versatile performances in hit dramas such as Khuda Aur Mohabbat, Rang Mahal, Naqaab, and Ilzam-e-Ishq, Humayoun Ashraf shared a first-hand account of the shocking event that unfolded after he had purchased an expensive mobile phone.
“I was caught completely off guard. A snatcher suddenly pointed a gun at me and demanded my phone,” Humayoun recalled. “I handed it over, but when I tried to take it back, he grabbed it again. I held him from behind, and in panic, he fired a shot and ran away. I knew he might return, so I hid behind a car.”
The actor described the immediate aftermath as chaotic and terrifying. “Two young men approached and asked if I was okay. That’s when I realized my pants were soaked in blood—the bullet had passed through my leg. On our way to the hospital, I wasn’t sure what to do, whether to recite the Kalma or not. I knew I wasn’t going to die, but the pain was intense.”
At the hospital, the doctors initially struggled to assess the situation. “I requested a painkiller first before figuring out the next steps,” Humayoun added, recounting his ordeal with composure.
