Renowned Pakistani actress Javeria Abbasi opened up about her second marriage, calling it a unique ceremony performed in two different ways, following both Sunni and Shia traditions.
Speaking on a talk show, she shared details about her dual nikah and also discussed her daughter Anzila Abbasi’s participation in Miss Universe Pakistan 2024.
During her appearance on a private TV channel, Javeria expressed pride in Anzila, who competed in the pageant and secured a spot among the top 21 candidates.
She said she stood firmly by her daughter’s decision to participate despite widespread criticism. According to her, the competition offered a positive platform for Pakistani women to showcase their talent internationally.
Javeria revealed that Anzila even wore a burqa during the competition, yet critics still targeted her, a reaction she called unnecessary.
