Having been out of work for some time and battling severe diabetes, his health has taken a severe downturn. Khawaja Saleem disclosed to Daily Point that due to complications from diabetes, his foot had become gangrenous, leading to the amputation of two toes. Despite the physical and emotional pain of losing a part of his body, he expressed gratitude for the unwavering support of his family, who have been his pillar of strength during this challenging period.
Financially strained and facing mounting medical bills, Khawaja Saleem acknowledged the support of fellow artists Sohail Ahmed and Shagufta Ejaz, highlighting their solidarity during his time of need. He emphasized that while he may not have significant financial resources, he has contributed to society through his work and urged authorities to consider assisting him during this difficult phase, citing the taxes he has diligently paid over the years.
