Pakistani actor Nadia Jamil has stepped forward to urge Punjab’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to take decisive and meaningful action against animal cruelty in the province.

The message, co-authored with fellow actor Uzma Hassan, draws a powerful connection between the treatment of animals and the moral fabric of society itself.

Shared publicly and gaining traction online, the letter calls on citizens to amplify the message. “Please sign and circulate this petition. Tag @maryamnawazofficial and help it reach the Chief Minister’s Office,” Jamil urged, turning her advocacy into a collective movement.

At the heart of the appeal lies a sobering truth: cruelty, once normalized, rarely remains confined. Jamil emphasized that when violence becomes part of everyday life, it silently shapes young minds. “The way we treat animals reflects the values we are teaching the next generation,” she noted, underscoring the deep psychological imprint such behavior leaves on children.

The letter points out that individuals who harm animals may often be grappling with unresolved psychological issues. Left unchecked, such tendencies can escalate into broader patterns of violence, including domestic abuse. Meanwhile, the situation for animals themselves continues to deteriorate, with reports of increasing mistreatment of wild and exotic species causing severe stress and suffering.

Despite the gravity of the issue, the tone of the appeal remains hopeful. Jamil and Hassan expressed confidence in Maryam Nawaz’s leadership, acknowledging her ongoing efforts to support vulnerable communities. Their message is clear: a society that protects its weakest members, be they children or animals, lays the groundwork for a more compassionate and resilient future.

Jamil is not alone in raising her voice. Earlier this year, actor Ushna Shah also reached out to the chief minister, appreciating her initiatives while calling for stronger attention to animal welfare. Similarly, Zhalay Sarhadi highlighted concerns during the controversial demolition of a pet market near Data Darbar, where animals were reportedly left buried under debris.

One user taunted him, writing, “After five daughters, the goddess of fate was kind to Shahid Afridi and blessed him with Max. Just imagine what the mother, father and sisters must be going through, whose only Max has been lost.”

Imran Ashraf has had to do something no celebrity should ever have to do and that is to assure the world that he is still alive.

The actor recently found himself at the centre of a bizarre social media hoax after AI-generated videos falsely claimed that he had passed away. The fabricated clips spread across social media, leaving some fans genuinely confused about what had happened.

The videos were particularly convincing because they featured digitally created versions of familiar Pakistani personalities, including journalists and celebrities. As the content circulated, the false reports began taking on a life of their own.

Imran eventually stepped in to put the rumours to rest himself.

Taking to his Instagram story, the actor shared a direct message for his followers, writing, “ALHAMDULILLAH I AM ABSOLOUTLY FINE ITS A FAKE NEWS NEED YOUR PRAYERS.”

His message made it clear that there was no truth behind the death reports and that he was perfectly fine.

Among the fabricated content circulating online were videos featuring AI-generated versions of actor Bilal Abbas, former cricketer Shahid Afridi and journalist Mansoor Ali Khan. The use of familiar faces appeared to give the fake reports an added sense of credibility, making the hoax even more disturbing.

One video took the deception a step further by showing what appeared to be Imran Ashraf’s funeral. Such content can easily mislead viewers who encounter it without knowing that the footage has been digitally manipulated.

Unfortunately, Imran is not the first Pakistani celebrity to become the target of an AI-powered death hoax.

Earlier this year, veteran singer Tahira Syed was also forced to respond after false reports about her death began circulating online. She later appeared in a video to confirm that she was alive and healthy, while reminding people to check the authenticity of information before believing or sharing it.

Zain Hamid confirms separation from Nimra Khan

UK-based pilot Zain Hamid has confirmed his divorce from Pakistani actor Nimra Khan, months after their marriage and amid separation rumours on social media.

Nimra Khan married Zain Hamid in May 2026. However, reports of differences between the couple and speculation about their separation had been circulating on social media for some time.

At the time, Nimra had denied the reports, saying that her married life was going well. She had also removed her wedding pictures from social media, citing concerns about the evil eye.

Zain Hamid has now confirmed the divorce in a statement posted on Instagram. He said he divorced Nimra Khan on July 17, attributing the decision to irreconcilable personal differences and differences in priorities.

He said he did not want to blame anyone for the separation, adding that legal proceedings had also been initiated and the matter had been handed over to lawyers.

Zain further said the separation was mutually agreed upon and that such circumstances were equally difficult for both men and women. He also expressed his best wishes for Nimra Khan.

Nimra Khan’s marriage to Zain Hamid was her second. She had previously married Raja Iftikhar in 2020, but the marriage ended a few months later.
