Actor Sami Khan recalls Near-Fatal on-set Accidents
Pakistani actor Sami Khan recently reflected on two frightening on-set incidents where he narrowly avoided serious injury.
He recalled an early career moment while filming a song for a movie directed by Moammar Rana that was never completed. The scene required him to appear oiled and pose close to an open flame. As he moved nearer, the heat became unbearable, forcing him to step back to avoid burns. To complete the shot, a makeup artist sprayed his hand to protect it, but he could only endure the heat for a few seconds.
In another instance, while shooting a breakup scene with Jana Malik, Sami placed his hand over a candle flame for dramatic effect. Within seconds, his hand was burned. He later admitted it was a painful mistake and a lesson in safety.
Sami urged young actors to remain calm on set and never take unnecessary risks, emphasizing that professionalism and proper safety measures are far more important than dramatic impact.

Pakistani actor Sami Khan, born Mansoor Aslam Khan Niazi on July 6, 1980, in Lahore, is one of the country’s most versatile television and film performers. A graduate in electronic and communication engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, he initially planned a career in engineering before turning to acting.
He made his film debut in 2004 with Salakhain, playing a young police officer, and soon transitioned to television, where he gained recognition for his powerful performances in dramas such as Dil Se Dil Tak, Aisi Hai Tanhai, and Inkaar. His role in the 2019 film Wrong No. 2 further cemented his place as a leading man in Pakistani cinema.
