Television host and actor Nadia Khan has once again found herself at the center of controversy after her latest review of HUM TV's Zanjeerain triggered a wave of criticism from fellow celebrities. It began as a dramatic recreation of Sajal Aly's performance on a review show has now turned into a heated discussion about the fine line between honest criticism and public humiliation.
The controversy erupted during the July 4 episode of Kya Drama Hai, where Nadia reviewed the 18th episode of Zanjeerain. A major portion of the episode follows Sajal Aly's character, Rabia, desperately running for her life after escaping danger and later trying to evade armed attackers.
While discussing the sequence, Nadia questioned the realism of Rabia repeatedly shouting "Koi hai?" while bullets were flying around her. She then acted out Sajal's running scene herself, exaggerating the movements in a way that drew laughter from host Mukarram Kaleem. The clip quickly circulated online, prompting strong reactions from fans and members of the entertainment industry alike.
Actor Maya Ali was among the first stars to publicly defend Sajal Aly. Without mincing words, Maya stressed that there is a significant difference between offering constructive feedback and openly mocking a fellow artist. She reminded audiences that Sajal has spent years building an impressive career, delivering memorable performances and representing Pakistan internationally with pride.
Maya added that regardless of an actor's experience or achievements, every performer deserves to have their efforts acknowledged with respect. In her view, generating attention or television ratings should never come at the expense of another person's dignity.
Veteran actress Saba Faisal also expressed disappointment over Nadia's remarks. Addressing her directly, Saba questioned whether such comments were appropriate on a public platform. She argued that speaking about respected actors in such a dismissive manner sends the wrong message and asked what gave anyone the authority to ridicule an artist of Sajal Aly's stature.
