Dar e Nijaat is a hit ARY Digital drama series written by Umera Ahmed and directed by Saqib Khan. Produced under 3’s Entertainment, the show stars Sheheryar Munawar, Dur-e-Fishan Saleem, and Nameer Nawaz Khan in key roles. The story features Zaryab, Zamil, and Abu Bakar’s moral dilemmas, redemption, and vulnerabilities as normal humans. Dar-e-Nijaat is gaining huge popularity, especially the positive character of Abu Bakar, who is getting huge praise for being too fictional. The drama is also getting criticism, with many saying it has a problematic narrative that glorifies exploitation.
Nasir Adeeb, who is a famous Pakistani writer, has come up with his analysis of Dar-e-Nijaat. The writer analyzed the message given by the writer to the youth, especially girls.
Nasir Adeeb said, “The writer has told that it’s only women whose past has been judged, but men are exempted even after committing all the sins. It’s a men’s society whose order rules the world. In our society, men will have multiple affairs, but they easily get a good match, and that too, a good girl. This is the hypocrisy of men who, despite being sinful, want pious women for them, be it a housewife or a lover. This is the writer speaking through Zaryab, Zamil, Hamna, and Abu Bakar because people are seeing their reflection in the characters. They intensified and glamorized it to make it relatable. They showed a sinful lifestyle and also showed them regretting, which was lesson-oriented because everyone thinks once before committing sins. Zamil confesses and thinks he’s pious now, but Zaryab is still unforgivable. This is the lesson for girls: to save and protect themselves from men before nikah. Don’t go to the point where you need Dar-e-Nijaat. Don’t reach that point where you end up in a miserable life, a suicide, or a bad marriage.”
