Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan gave fans a glimpse of his recent encounter with Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt by sharing a video on Instagram, which quickly garnered significant attention.
He captioned the clip, “a memorable meeting between two legends,” noting that they engaged in “meaningful talks, shared stories, and mutual respect.” Rahat added that witnessing such positive energy between them made him very happy.
Fans responded enthusiastically in the comments. One referenced Dutt by his popular nickname “Sanju Baba” with a fire emoji, while another wrote “Mashallah Khan Sab g” with heart-eyes. A third commented “Legends meeting” with a heart, and one user mentioned “Chaudhry Aslam”—a reference to Dutt’s controversial new film role—also with a fire emoji.
The meeting took place shortly after the release of Dutt’s latest Bollywood film Dhurandhar, in which he portrays a character based on Chaudhry Aslam Khan, a Pakistani police officer who was assassinated.
The film has sparked considerable controversy in both Pakistan and India and has been banned in several Gulf countries—including Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE—over perceptions that it contains anti-Pakistan content.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandharfollows an Indian spy operating in Karachi’s Lyari area, described in the trailer as “the heart of terrorism in Pakistan.” While the filmmakers claim the story is “inspired by true events,” no verified evidence links the portrayed Karachi figures to cross-border terrorism.
In a separate recent post, Rahat also shared a video of a live performance alongside his son, emerging singer Shahzaman Ali Khan, who recently made his television debut singing the soundtrack for ARY Digital’s drama Bismil.
