Actor-host Sanam Jung frequently shares the challenges of her personal life. Last year, she spoke about living abroad after marriage and the homesickness it brought. This Thursday, she appeared on Good Morning Pakistan and described her experience of motherhood while her husband works away from home.
Sanam married Abdul Qassam Jafri in 2016. In 2023, they moved to Houston, Texas, and in 2024 she called it her “real rukhsati” during Shan e Suhoor. She explained that she and Jafri, a pilot, had agreed to a long-distance marriage when he relocated to the US. After receiving her green card, she moved to Texas with their daughter so the family could live together.
She gave birth to their first daughter, Alaya, in 2016 and announced it on Facebook. In 2024, she announced the birth of their second daughter, Aliza.
Even with her family together, Sanam manages most household chores alone. “Qassam spends fifteen days away every month for work. When he returns, he takes care of all the groceries and major tasks I can’t manage while looking after two kids. I handle the rest,” she said.
The former Jago Pakistan Jago host misses working but can’t commit to a full-time job. “I can’t do an in-person job because of my kids,” she said. “I try to handle Instagram endorsements when my husband is home, but I never leave my kids alone—it scares me.”
