Shehbaz Sharif’s Style Wins Praise From Top Menswear Voice

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has found himself in an unusual spotlight; not for politics, but for his wardrobe. Over the weekend, one of the internet’s most influential menswear commentators, Derek Guy, gave the Pakistani leader a nod of approval that fashion enthusiasts rarely overlook.

Guy, known for his sharp observations on tailoring and classic menswear, highlighted how Western-style suiting often looks its best when worn by men outside the West. To make his point, he spotlighted three figures – Japan’s Naruhito, Nigerian economist Akinwumi Adesina, and Shehbaz Sharif, each representing a distinct yet confident approach to formal dressing.

Sharif’s look at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum drew particular attention. While many global leaders stuck to predictable navy and charcoal palettes, he stood apart in a carefully tailored beige double-breasted suit. The outfit, paired with a soft grey shirt and polished dark brown oxfords, struck a balance between understated elegance and individuality. Even the tie – somewhere between olive, brown, and grey depending on who you ask – added to the intrigue, catching the Mediterranean light in a way that made the entire ensemble feel deliberate.

Small details elevated the look further. A Pakistani flag pin sat neatly on one lapel, mirrored by a conference insignia on the other.

Guy also pointed to a previous appearance from Sharif’s visit to Ankara, where the prime minister wore a navy double-breasted blazer paired with contrasting grey trousers. A crisp white shirt set the stage for a striking emerald-green tie, while polished black loafers and metallic buttons completed the look with finesse.

It’s not the first time Sharif has stepped outside the rigid style code that dominates political dressing. A scroll through official photos shows a leader unafraid to experiment; from tailored suits in varied tones to his well-known safari suits and hats, which have long been part of his personal style signature.

The other figures highlighted by Guy brought their own flair to the conversation. Adesina embraced sharp detailing with a navy pinstripe suit and a patterned bow tie, while Emperor Naruhito remained rooted in tradition, wearing a classic morning suit.

They know that the actor will be stuck and they will work in the drama for lesser money if the role is good. He was exploited this way by ARY Digital who paid him very small amount of money for the drama Kaisi Teri Khudgarzi as they knew the role was good.

Usama Khan says Pakistan isn’t ready for global streaming platforms

Usama Khan

Actor Usama Khan has questioned whether Pakistan is ready for global streaming platforms, saying the country’s culture of censorship must change before local productions can compete internationally.

In a recent Instagram story, Khan reacted to the government’s announcement that it is working to bring Pakistani films and dramas to platforms such as Netflix.

He argued that international streaming services are driven by authentic and unrestricted storytelling, including true crime, political dramas and stories based on real-life issues, while Pakistani content continues to face strict limitations.

According to Khan, filmmakers and writers are often unable to explore subjects such as politics, crime and history because of censorship, making it difficult to produce the kind of content global OTT platforms expect.

He added that unless artists are given greater creative freedom and the culture of banning content comes to an end, Pakistan will not be fully prepared for the international streaming market.

Khan’s remarks came after Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal announced that the government is in talks to bring Pakistani productions to Netflix and other global streaming platforms, while also developing a local OTT platform to expand the country’s media exports.
