Bollywood actor Shehnaaz Gill has urged artists to never shy away from asking for the compensation they deserve, saying fair pay is closely linked to respect and recognition.
In a recent interview, Gill said financial considerations are an important part of her decision-making before signing any project. She explained that she always negotiates a fee that reflects her experience, talent and market value, believing every artist should know their worth.
The actor recalled working without charging a fee early in her career but said the experience did not earn her the respect she had hoped for. It taught her the importance of valuing her work and not underselling herself.
