Renowned singer Naseebo Lal has reportedly suffered domestic violence at the hands of her husband, months after film actress and stage artist Nargis faced a similar ordeal.
A First Information Report (FIR) filed today (Saturday) at Shahdra Police Station, Lahore, accuses Naseebo's husband, Naveed Hussain, of attacking her. According to the FIR, Naseebo Lal was sitting in her courtyard at 5 PM when Naveed Hussain arrived home and immediately began insulting her.
The report further states that after verbally abusing her, Hussain picked up a brick and struck her in the face, causing severe injuries to her left cheek and nose.
“He often argues and fights with me, but today he hit me with a brick, severely insulted me, and physically abused me, which is a serious violation,” the FIR reads, urging legal action against him.
Naseebo Lal, widely recognized for her folk songs in Urdu, Punjabi, Saraiki, and Marwari, as well as her performances in Coke Studio and the anthem for the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), has now become another victim of domestic abuse.
Naseebo Lal's Shocking Domestic Abuse Ordeal
This is not the first time Naseebo’s husband has been involved in violence. In December 2024, police arrested him for injuring a person by opening fire in his neighborhood in Shahdara Town, Lahore. The FIR states that a fight broke out between Naveed and residents, during which he fired a weapon, injuring one person who was later hospitalized.
This latest incident comes months after dancer Nargis filed a case against her husband, Majid Bashir, in Lahore for allegedly assaulting her.
In her FIR, she claimed that her husband attempted to seize her property documents, cash, and farmhouse, and after she refused, he assaulted her. “He punched me in the face with an official pistol, tortured me in front of household staff and my nephew, and locked me in a room,” she stated.
According to police, Nargis was allegedly assaulted in Lahore’s Defence C area. Authorities confirmed that she visited the police station after the attack but had not filed a formal complaint at the time.
