Veena Malik fights to keep her children close

Veena Malik is now seen celebrating her love for Shehryar Chaudhry on Instagram, where affectionate posts are shared consistently. However, her journey to happiness has not been easy.

In an interview with Mishi Khan, the Rangeela star opened up about painful memories from her past, especially those surrounding her divorce from her former husband, with whom she shares two children.

Reflecting on her hardships, she said, “The problems I’ve faced in my life regarding my kids have been far from easy. I once decided that if my past relationship took all my money, I would accept it, as long as things worked out. But they didn’t.”

“When I saw this relationship endangering my children’s lives, that’s when I packed my bags, took my kids, and chose to fight back. They are my biggest inspiration,” she added warmly.

To date, Veena has faced four custody battles for her children. “A mother is her kids’ natural guardian, but I feel like I’m the only mother who has won custody four times and still faces ongoing cases. Why? Because dealing with a narcissist brings these challenges,” she said.

Having fought this battle for a decade, Veena empathizes deeply with women in similar situations who lack the resources to fight back. She noted that even her friends praise her perseverance, recognizing the emotional toll such an ordeal takes.

In 2017, Veena secured custody of her children after her “paper marriage” was annulled. Initially, things were amicable, and she allowed her kids to visit Dubai with their father for two weeks. However, this arrangement led to a prolonged legal struggle when her ex-husband refused to return the children.

“Thankfully, I’ve seen that Allah rewards generously,” she shared. “My kids, along with my family, are my greatest support. To put it in perspective, it takes one step to fall into a well but a thousand to climb back out.”
