Aamir Liaquat Hussain, celebrated television host, politician, and a household name across Pakistan, lived a life that was as dramatic off-screen as it was on. Known for his charisma, quick wit, and deep connection with his audience, Aamir Liaquat was a fixture in homes for decades. Yet, his final years were overshadowed by a storm of personal controversies, from multiple high-profile marriages to bitter disputes with family, and ultimately, the tragic leak of his private videos that sparked nationwide debate.
The leaked videos, allegedly recorded and shared online by his third wife, Dania Shah, painted a dark turn in his life. Amid the ensuing media frenzy, journalist Yasir Shami also found himself linked to the controversy. Following Aamir Liaquat’s untimely death, his ex-wife, Dr Bushra Iqbal, took legal action against both Dania Shah and Yasir Shami, accusing them of playing a role in the emotional distress that, she claimed, contributed to his demise.
After years of legal back-and-forth, the case against Yasir Shami has reached a conclusion. Shami maintained throughout that he had no connection to the leak and was unfairly implicated. The FIA’s investigative report supported his stance, stating that there was insufficient evidence to prove his involvement.
