In the aftermath of a long and emotionally charged legal battle, singer and actress Meesha Shafi has finally broken her silence following the court’s verdict in favor of Ali Zafar.
Once known as collaborators and friends, the two artists became central figures in one of Pakistan’s most high-profile legal disputes after Meesha Shafi, eight years ago, publicly accused Ali Zafar of harassment. At the time, her statement—shared in the spirit of the global Me Too movement—sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, as she alleged inappropriate physical conduct and chose to speak out in pursuit of accountability.
While Meesha maintained her stance, Ali Zafar denied the allegations and filed a defamation suit against her. After years of hearings and legal proceedings, the court ultimately ruled in Ali Zafar’s favor, ordering Meesha Shafi to pay Rs. 5 million in damages.
Now, in the wake of the verdict, Meesha Shafi has turned to social media to express her thoughts—not through direct confrontation, but through reflection and resilience. Taking to Instagram, she shared a series of stories centered on themes of women’s empowerment, strength, and healing.
Among her posts were verses of poetry that echoed defiance and courage, subtly reinforcing her stance without explicitly addressing the court’s ruling. She also opened up about her personal journey, describing the experience as deeply traumatic and acknowledging the emotional toll it has taken over the years.
