Nadeem Baig Dismisses Awards After Naseer Beats Naumaan Ijaz

Director Nadeem Baig has expressed serious concerns regarding the credibility of awards shows within the entertainment industry, emphasizing their questionable legitimacy.
In a recent appearance on the talk show Say It All with Iffat Omar, Baig discussed the surprising outcome of the Best Actor award, which was won by Arsalan Naseer, who has only recently made his mark in the industry through YouTube, defeating the established Naumaan Ijaz.
Baig remarked, “For instance, it astonishes me that Arsalan Naseer, who just entered the industry via YouTube, would receive an award for Best Actor in the presence of Naumaan Ijaz. Frankly, such awards seem non-existent in Pakistan.
There’s a single award for fashion, but to draw a larger crowd and attract notable figures to the front row, they include categories for film and television. They end up distributing five awards each for both sectors. It raises the question of fairness; for example, you cannot possibly compare Sajal Aly and Saba Hamid in the same category without it being grossly unfair.”
On the topic of the current awards shows, Baig firmly asserted:
“I firmly believe that the awards being handed out today possess no real value. This isn’t a statement I make lightly. When something is so visible to the public eye, failing to acknowledge its flaws only serves to undermine its worth. Consequently, the awards lose their significance. It feels as though everyone simply attends these events and receives social media awards, including Lux.
I’m unsure of the format, but when public voting is involved, it can easily be manipulated. You could hire 500 people to vote or engage in other dubious practices. Ultimately, this leads to results that leave everyone shocked and bewildered.”

Danish Taimoor Recieves Backlash Over Polygamy Remarks on Live TV

Pakistani actor Danish Taimoor has landed in hot water after his recent comments on polygamy during a Ramazan TV transmission. While discussing the topic alongside former news anchor Rabia Anam, Taimoor casually stated that men have the right to marry up to four times, but he personally chooses not to—at least “for now.” His remarks have ignited a firestorm on social media, with many criticizing his tone and the implication behind his words.
Danish Taimoor Comments Stir Controversy
During the live broadcast, Danish Taimoor remarked that while Islam permits men to marry multiple times, he has not exercised that right—yet. His use of the word “filhaal” (as of now) particularly unsettled viewers, who perceived it as a subtle indication that he might consider it in the future. Despite his claim of love and respect for his wife, Ayeza Khan, many felt his words were unnecessary and disrespectful, especially given the setting.
Social Media Outrage and Comparisons to Hamza Ali Abbasi
The internet was quick to react, with many calling out the perceived entitlement in his statement. Critics pointed out that while men frequently cite their right to multiple marriages, they often neglect the religious conditions attached to polygamy. The backlash was further amplified when an old clip of Hamza Ali Abbasi discussing the same topic resurfaced. Unlike Taimoor, Abbasi had emphasized the historical context and ethical responsibilities tied to polygamy, sparking a wave of comparisons. Netizens lauded Abbasi’s approach, with one user commenting, “In a world full of Danish Taimoors, be a Hamza Ali Abbasi.”

Hamza Ali Abbasi Sheds Light on Four Marriages in Islam in Viral Interview

Pakistani actor Hamza Ali Abbasi previously shared his perspective on four marriages in Islam during an interview on The Epic Show. While happily married to Naimal Khawar Khan, he discussed the religious and ethical aspects of polygyny, emphasizing the strict conditions under which it is permitted. His insights have sparked widespread discussions online.
Hamza Ali Abbasi Explains the Context of Four Marriages in Islam
During the conversation, the host jokingly remarked on men’s interest in multiple marriages. Hamza responded with laughter, assuring that he is content with his single marriage. He elaborated that the Quranic verse allowing up to four marriages was revealed in a specific historical context. According to him, after the Battle of Uhud, many women and children were left vulnerable without any social welfare systems, leading to the command for men to care for orphans by marrying their mothers.
The Challenge of Justice in Multiple Marriages
Hamza also highlighted that while Islam permits polygyny, it warns of the difficulty of maintaining fairness between wives. He pointed out that the Quran explicitly states that achieving true justice among multiple spouses is nearly impossible, making monogamy the preferred option. His statements resonated with many, igniting a debate on the religious and social dimensions of the practice.

The controversy arose during a Ramadan special show where he appeared alongside his wife, Ayeza Khan. Taimoor reiterated multiple times that Islam permits him to marry four times, but he has chosen not to out of love and respect for his wife. However, his remarks did not sit well with the audience, who found them inappropriate and unnecessary.
Danish Taimoor’s Controversial Remarks on Four Marriages
During the Eid special episode of Mahfil-e-Ramadan, Danish Taimoor expressed his stance on polygamy, stating that no one can take away his right to have four wives. He emphasized that while he has not exercised this right, it remains a religiously sanctioned option for him. His repeated statements in front of Ayeza Khan made her visibly uncomfortable, leading many to believe that his remarks were insensitive and uncalled for.
Taimoor’s comments quickly went viral on social media, drawing criticism from fans and critics alike. Many accused him of subtly asserting dominance over his wife, while others found his remarks disrespectful. Some netizens pointed out that his statements seemed like a veiled threat, suggesting that Ayeza should be grateful he has not married again.
Public Reaction and Social Media Backlash
The internet was flooded with reactions mocking Danish Taimoor for his statements. Many users expressed disappointment, questioning why he felt the need to emphasize his right to multiple marriages publicly. One user sarcastically commented, “Looks like he’s just reminding Ayeza what he ‘could’ do.” Another wrote, “His insecurity is showing—trying to keep the upper hand over Ayeza.”
While some defended him, arguing that he was merely stating a religious fact, the overwhelming response was negative. Many viewers believed that his remarks were unnecessary and could have been avoided, especially on a public platform with his wife present.
As the controversy continues to trend, neither Danish Taimoor nor Ayeza Khan has addressed the backlash directly. However, the heated debate over his comments highlights how sensitive discussions about polygamy remain in the public sphere.
