Actor Aijaz Aslam has given fans a delightful glimpse into Pakistan’s television history, taking them back to the 1990s with a rare clip from an old Pakistan Television (PTV) programme featuring some of the industry’s most familiar faces.

The actor recently shared the nostalgic footage on Instagram, recalling a time when television personalities would come together for special Eid transmissions filled with spontaneous conversations, and plenty of laughter. Although Aslam believes the recording was part of an Eid special, he admitted that he could not remember the exact occasion.

The clip features Aslam alongside the late actor and comedian Khawaja Akmal and Adnan Siddiqui, with Laila Wasti hosting the lively session. Unlike today's carefully produced entertainment shows, the gathering captures a relaxed atmosphere, with the celebrities exchanging jokes and sharing light-hearted moments without any apparent pressure to put on a performance.

One scene, in particular, stands out for its unexpected humour. During the conversation, Aslam asks Khawaja Akmal what acting opportunities remain for someone after gaining weight. Without missing a beat, the comedian responds with a clever reference to "cinema scope", leaving everyone around him amused.

Reflecting on the recording, Aslam explained that the team had prepared a few entertaining questions for the guests, but what followed was largely a natural conversation between colleagues. For him, the footage represents something that seems increasingly rare in today's television landscape.

"There were no fancy sets, no scripts built for virality. It was just warmth, respect and real conversations," the actor wrote while sharing the clip.

Aslam also acknowledged how dramatically Pakistan's entertainment industry has transformed over the years. From television formats and production styles to the way celebrities interact with audiences, almost everything has evolved. However, revisiting the old footage reminded him of the simplicity and genuine connections that once defined television entertainment.

"The frames have changed, the shows have changed and the whole industry has evolved. But watching this, I realise what we had back then, Those were simple times and beautiful times, and I miss them more than words can say," he added.
