For anyone who grew up glued to PTV in the ’90s, few words spark instant joy like “Ainak Wala Jinn aa gaya!” The moment that familiar jingle played, living rooms across Pakistan lit up with excitement. Long before fantasy dramas and CGI-filled movies, there was Ainak Wala Jinn, a show that made every child believe in magic, friendship, and imagination.
Now, decades later, that magic has returned, powered by artificial intelligence.
As the state broadcaster re-released the original episodes in enhanced quality, an independent creative duo, Javeria Rasheed and Hashim Naveed, the brains behind Reelwind, decided to take the nostalgia to the next level.
Being lifelong fans of the show, the couple envisioned a project that would merge the innocence of the past with the innovation of today. Their AI-driven remake of Ainak Wala Jinn isn’t just a digital recreation.
It began as a single experimental episode, and quickly turned into a full-fledged AI series after the teaser song went viral online. Viewers flooded social media with love, memories, and tears of joy.
Reimagining such iconic characters, Nastoor Jinn, Zakoota, Bill Batori, and Hamoon Jadugar, was no small feat. Every detail, from Zakoota’s goofy expressions to Nastoor’s iconic eyebrows, was rebuilt through painstaking AI artistry.
“We didn’t want to just recreate faces — we wanted to revive emotions,” Javeria shared. “People carry deep emotional connections with these characters. Getting it right mattered.”
The AI remake also introduces a mother and son duo who act as a bridge between the old-world wonder and the modern-day digital age. It’s a clever twist that ensures today’s children, surrounded by smartphones and streaming, can still experience the same sense of wonder their parents once did.
Hashim added with a smile, “It’s beautiful to see families — grandparents, parents, and kids — watching it together again. That’s the real magic of Ainak Wala Jinn.”
What’s truly remarkable is how technology, often blamed for disconnecting people, is helping them reconnect with their roots. With official approval from the state broadcaster and blessings from the original director Hafiz Tahir, Ainak Wala Jinn’s AI revival has become more than just a digital experiment. It’s a cultural bridge, proving that nostalgia and innovation can coexist beautifully.
Through AI, Javeria and Hashim reignited a piece of childhood magic. And perhaps, somewhere between the lines of code and color, Ainak Wala Jinn found a new life… ready to enchant the next generation of dreamers.
