Pakistani music has earned another moment in the global spotlight as ‘Alfaaz’ by Zain Ali, Zohaib Ali and Hamza Malik makes its way into Spotify’s Top 50 Global chart, placing the homegrown track alongside some of the biggest names in the international music industry.
The Urdu-Punjabi song secured the 39th position on Wednesday’s chart, sitting just below ‘One Of The Girls’ by The Weeknd and Jennie. Its appearance put the Pakistani collaboration in the company of artists such as Olivia Rodrigo, who ranked sixth, Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj at No. 15, Harry Styles at No. 28 and Michael Jackson at No. 34.
However, the global entry is only one part of ‘Alfaaz’s’ growing success. The track has been steadily climbing the charts, eventually claiming the top spot on Spotify’s Top 50 lists in both Pakistan and India. Its performance across the two neighbouring countries has further strengthened its position as a standout release from Pakistan’s music scene.
