Actress Ramsha Salahuddin has disclosed she experienced a divorce last year and has since remarried, speaking openly about a deeply personal period of her life she had formerly kept entirely hidden and private.
Posting on Instagram, the actress shared a video captioned, “some chapters are harder to share than others”, where she explained why she had eventually chosen to address the issue with her followers. She stated she had been very reluctant to speak publicly openly due to the questions, judgement and stigma she worried might always follow.
“For a long time, I was afraid to speak about this part of my life not because I felt ashamed, but because I knew the questions, the judgement, and the stigma that can come with it. Yes, I went through a divorce, and two months back I got married again,” she wrote.
Speaking further in the video, Salahuddin said, “This topic is very sensitive and very personal to me.”
Addressing questions she had received from followers over the years, she wrote, “Many of you wondered why I never shared pictures with my husband and some even asked if I was divorced or a single mother.”
“The truth is that I needed some time to find the courage to share my story in my own way, and in my own time,” she added.
Salahuddin revealed that her divorce took place last year and that only those closest to her were aware of it.
“Last year, I got a divorce. I was always afraid to tell people and I was never able to be open about it with anyone. Only my personal close friends and family have known,” she said.
