Model and actor Anzela Abbasi has shared that her mother, Javeria Abbasi, fulfilled the role of both parents in her life, making sure she never felt the absence of her father, actor Shamoon Abbasi.
In a candid conversation on Ahmed Ali Butt’s podcast, Anzela opened up about her parents’ divorce, her childhood, and how her mother raised her as a young working parent. “My mom had me in her twenties. For me, she was both mom and dad. I never felt my father’s absence and never had any complaints in that sense,” she said. While she admitted feeling hurt at times as a child, she later came to understand that “everyone has their own emotions and journeys.”
Anzela recalled how her mother balanced work and motherhood, managing both parental roles on her own. She also spoke about her decision to move out at 22 to become independent, a choice that initially sparked debate but ultimately strengthened their bond. “After I moved out, our relationship improved. She trusted me more, visited often, brought food, and we had a great time. Later, I moved back when she asked me to settle down,” Anzela shared.
