Asim Azhar Calls Hania Aamir’s ‘Pablo’ a “Banger” and Praises Her as an Artist

Asim Azhar has shared his thoughts on Hania Aamir’s latest musical venture, and despite the complicated history between the two stars, the singer has nothing but praise for her new track, Pablo.

In a recent clip shared by BBC Asian Network, Asim was asked about Hania’s latest song and made it clear that he was impressed by what she had created. Calling Pablo a “banger,” he also praised Hania’s creativity and said he was excited to see her exploring this side of herself as an artist.

“She’s an amazing artist,” Asim said, adding that he relates to Hania because of their shared expressiveness. He also expressed excitement about seeing her embrace music and use it as another way to communicate her thoughts and emotions.

Asim Azhar Praises Hania’s Artistic Expression

While discussing Pablo, Asim also touched on the way Pakistani audiences respond to music. He urged listeners to be less critical and suggested that songs should be approached as a form of artistic expression rather than treated like a competition where every release is judged harshly.

For Asim, Hania being primarily known as an actress does not take away from her ability to create music. He pointed out that she wrote the song herself and viewed the track as Hania expressing her own feelings.

“Yeah, she’s an actress, but she dropped this song too. For me, I conceived it as, ‘Okay, nice.’ She’s an artist. She’s writing. She’s writing her feelings. She’s expressing how she feels,” he explained.

The singer was particularly impressed by the lyrics, noting that Hania managed to address several controversies surrounding her through short, carefully crafted lines.

“I think each and every line addresses a major controversy in just one-liners. I think that’s very smart,” Asim remarked.

Asim Wants More Pakistani Women in Pop Music

Asim’s praise did not stop at Hania’s individual release. He also spoke about the wider Pakistani music scene and said he would like to see more female artists making their mark in pop music.

The singer expressed his hope that “Pakistani pop girlies” would eventually outnumber men in the industry. He sees Pablo as potentially being an encouraging moment for young women who may want to enter music themselves.

“I think there’s so much potential and this is just the beginning,” Asim said. He added that Hania releasing Pablo could inspire more girls not only in Pakistan but across South Asia and even around the world.

The vibrant Punjabi track released on 9th September takes aim at her detractors, with Hania portraying herself as unfazed while her critics remain busy reacting to her.

The song also featured a message from Indian reality television personality Rakhi Sawant, who encouraged Hania to stay brave and face her critics with courage. Following the song’s release and the criticism it attracted, Sawant was among those who publicly defended Hania, affectionately referring to her as her “sweetheart.”
