Asim Azhar has teamed up with AARYAN for ‘Maheya’, the latest release from Coke Studio Nu.WAV, and it is fast becoming one of the most-watched Pakistani music videos of the month.

The song premiered on Coke Studio Pakistan’s YouTube channel on 2 October and passed 5.8 million views within its first three days.

Who Made ‘Maheya’

‘Maheya’ is performed by Asim Azhar and AARYAN and produced by Rovalio. The lyrics are credited to Asim Azhar, AARYAN and Kumail Abbas, while the music was composed by Asim Azhar, Azhar Hussain and Rovalio, and arranged by Rovalio and Asim Azhar. Melvin Arthur contributes additional composition and guitars, with programming and harmonium by Haider Ali.

The video is directed and edited by Kamal Khan, Coke Studio’s executive producer, and produced by Gali Films. Its cast includes Mahad as a young Asim and Arafat Afreeh in the role of AARYAN’s father, suggesting a story rooted in childhood and family.

‘Maheya’ arrives as part of Coke Studio Nu.WAV, the newest chapter of the long-running series, which has also released ‘Rangeen’ under its Off The Record banner.

For Asim Azhar, it caps a busy year that has already brought the collaboration ‘Aarzu’, whose video has passed 33 million views, and his single ‘Tu Hai Wohi’.
