Pakistani singer Asim Azhar has issued a clarification following criticism over his cover version of the classic song Tu Hai Wohi Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha and the controversy involving social media influencer Rajab Butt.
The singer’s rendition of the beloved track received mixed reactions on social media, with many users criticizing the performance and claiming that the original song had been ruined.
The controversy escalated after Rajab Butt posted a lip-sync video in support of the song. Asim Azhar thanked the influencer for the gesture, but his response drew further criticism from social media users, who questioned his decision to acknowledge the support.
Amid the growing backlash, Asim Azhar released a statement on Instagram, explaining that thanking someone and replying to an expression of appreciation does not imply that he shares the same views or values.
