Bushra Iqbal Shares Fresh Update on Aamir Liaquat Case Four Years After His Death

Four years after the sudden death of renowned televangelist and television personality Aamir Liaquat Hussain, the legal battle surrounding his final days continues to unfold.

June 9 marked the fourth death anniversary of Aamir Liaquat, a figure who remained one of Pakistan’s most talked-about media personalities throughout his career and even after his passing. On the occasion, his first wife, Bushra Iqbal, shared an update regarding the ongoing legal proceedings linked to the controversy that emerged before his death.

Taking to social media, Bushra revealed that the court process is still underway and that witness statements are currently being recorded. She maintained that the case against Dania Shah has not been closed and vowed to continue pursuing justice for the late scholar and television host.

Reflecting on the anniversary, Bushra appealed to supporters to remember Aamir Liaquat in their prayers. She also stressed that her struggle is aimed at protecting his dignity and ensuring accountability for what she described as the humiliation he faced during the final chapter of his life.

Aamir Liaquat Hussain was born on July 5, 1971, in Karachi and began his professional journey in journalism at a young age. Before becoming a household name on television, he worked with various newspapers and steadily built a reputation in the media industry. Over the years, his unique presentation style and religious programming earned him nationwide recognition, making him one of Pakistan’s most prominent television personalities.

However, the final years of his life were overshadowed by personal controversies. His marriage to TikTok personality Dania Shah became the subject of intense public attention and legal disputes. The relationship quickly deteriorated, triggering allegations and counter-allegations that dominated headlines.

On June 9, 2022, Aamir Liaquat was found dead at his residence in Karachi. His sudden death shocked fans across the country. Despite investigations, authorities were unable to conclusively determine the exact cause of death, leaving many questions unanswered.

Following his death, his daughter, Dua Aamir, filed a legal case seeking justice over the circulation of explicit videos allegedly linked to her father. The family has repeatedly argued that the leak caused severe emotional distress and damaged his reputation.

The controversy led to the arrest of Dania Shah in 2022 over allegations that she had shared indecent videos of Aamir Liaquat. After spending several months in custody, she was later granted bail and released on court orders.

While the case remains active, tensions between both sides continue. Dania Shah has publicly sought a share in Aamir Liaquat’s inheritance and has indicated her intention to pursue legal action against his children and Bushra Iqbal, including allegations related to his death.

Sanam Jung questions Karachi’s e-challan system after six traffic fines

Sanam Jung

Pakistani actor and television host Sanam Jung says she received six traffic e-challans within a month of returning to Pakistan, claiming that several were issued for violations she did not commit.

In an Instagram video, Sanam said the repeated fines had frustrated her family, particularly her father. She accepted responsibility for the first challan, which was issued for using a mobile phone while driving.

However, she disputed some of the later fines, including one for allegedly not wearing a seat belt. Sanam said fastening a seat belt had become a regular habit during her time abroad and insisted that she never begins driving without it.

Questioning the accuracy of the system, she expressed concern over being penalised for offences she says did not occur.

Tipu Sharif laments Karachi’s disappearing trees and shrinking green spaces

Tipu Sharif

Actor Tipu Sharif has urged Karachi residents to plant more trees as rapid development continues to shrink the city’s green spaces.

Sharing an Instagram video of himself distributing plantation supplies, Sharif encouraged people to take part in tree-planting drives. He remarked that many graveyards now appear greener than residential areas and called for living spaces to be made equally green.

The actor warned that Karachi is losing trees at an alarming rate, leading to hotter streets, poorer air quality, less shade and fewer birds.

Referring to the monsoon season, Sharif said it presented the ideal opportunity to increase the city’s greenery. “The monsoon season is starting in Karachi. There’s no better time to start planting trees. I request you guys to fill Karachi’s roads, footpaths, and alleys. Please plant trees everywhere and increase greenery,” he said.

Highlighting the city’s rapid construction and property developments, the actor warned that continued deforestation could lead to serious environmental and health concerns. “In Karachi, there is not even two per cent of trees left and there’s construction and development happening. After a few years, we won’t even be able to breathe,” he stated.

Regarding his own efforts to combat the issue, Sharif shared that he had been distributing agricultural material across different parts of the city. “Today I am at the forestry nursery, taking 200 peepal trees to be planted in different areas, cemeteries, and places where greenery is lacking,” he said.

“Just think, people who have already passed away have greener surroundings in these cemeteries, while people living today don’t have clean air to breathe. Why is this?” the actor questioned.

Concluding his message, Sharif wrote, “Our one simple goal is to leave behind shade for people we’ll probably never meet. A tree planted today is a gift to future generations. Let’s stop turning Karachi into a concrete jungle and start bringing life back, one tree at a time.”

Sharif is known for his performances in dramas including TapishHumrahi, and Sitaron Se Agay. Along with advocating for environmental conservation, the actor also runs an advocacy page on Instagram addressing issues regarding animal abuse and sharing content about distributing food among the homeless.
