Musician and philanthropist Shehzad Roy is making headlines — but this time, the real stars are the confident voices of his students. Through a string of viral social media posts, Roy is spotlighting the transformative power of his education initiatives by letting the children themselves take center stage.
The videos feature students from schools run by Roy’s Zindagi Trust, a nonprofit that has been revitalizing Pakistan’s public education system since 2003. Young girls like Amara, Umaiza, and Khadija have captivated audiences with their intelligence and composure, discussing complex topics with a clarity far beyond their years.
In one particularly memorable clip, a student named Amara corrects Roy on his definition of “news.” Roy laughs as he recounts the exchange: “She corrected me, and she was right. That’s what education should do—teach children to think critically and trust their knowledge.”
This moment reflects the core mission of Zindagi Trust, which takes over government schools and transforms them with upgraded infrastructure, trained teachers, and a progressive curriculum focused on critical thinking, arts, and sports. Under Roy’s leadership, institutions like the Khatoon-e-Pakistan Government Girls School have emerged as beacons of hope.
