Musician and child rights advocate Shehzad Roy has received acclaim from Pakistani actors for establishing a Wall of Secrets at his educational institution, a project designed to assist children in sharing experiences of abuse that they are too fearful to discuss openly.
Actors Omair Rana, Sarwat Gilani, and Zhalay Sarhadi all visited the comments section of Roy’s video to applaud the endeavor. Rana, who mentioned that he had personally seen the wall, described it as “powerful,” noting that “children get to express themselves in a manner that they could not have,” and encouraged the public to review the art curriculum.
Gilani stated that “a safe space to tell their side is absolutely necessary in today’s world,” expressing gratitude to Roy for consistently providing that secure environment for children. Zhalay labeled it “a brilliant idea.”
In the video, Roy elaborated that the Wall of Secrets operates through art, a medium he characterized as especially effective for children who struggle to articulate their experiences, particularly in situations involving sexual abuse.
