Hamza Ali Abbasi showcases his diverse talents—not just in acting, singing, cooking, and playing the guitar, but now as a wedding officiant too.
Yes, you read that right. The beloved star of Pakistani dramas like Pyare Afzal, Mann Mayal, and the iconic Alif has officially added "Nikah officiant" to his resume after a recent viral video captured him solemnizing a couple’s Nikah ceremony.
Famous for his roles in films like Jawani Phir Nahi Aani and The Legend of Maula Jatt, Hamza is no stranger to the spotlight. But this time, he took center stage for a different reason.
A video posted by Bunty Khalid Photography on Instagram shows the actor stepping into the role of a “Maulana” for the day, conducting the entire Nikah ceremony—from reciting the sacred verses to announcing the Haq Meher (dowry amount) on behalf of the groom.
As expected, the internet had a lot to say.

Social media erupted with reactions, ranging from laughter to admiration, with some even requesting Hamza to officiate their own weddings.
One fan jokingly commented, "Itna handsome Maulvi, mera bhai nikah parha do"—Such a handsome religious figure, please officiate my Nikah too.
Public Reaction to Hamza Ali Abbasi Officiating a Nikah
While many praised him for normalizing religious duties in everyday life, others raised concerns. Some critics argued that actors, despite their fame, might lack the necessary knowledge to perform such a sacred act. "Actors should stick to their profession. Nikah is a serious religious duty and should be performed by someone properly trained," one user remarked.

But let’s be honest—does this really need to be a controversy? Hamza never claimed to be a religious scholar. He simply stepped up as a good friend on a special occasion. Sometimes, a kind gesture is just that—a kind gesture.
