Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, known for her hit dramas and as the UN National Goodwill Ambassador, is facing a storm of criticism over her close ties with Hum Television Network’s senior producer Umer Mukhtar.
The controversy erupted after digital creator Mahnoor Rahim publicly accused Umer Mukhtar of harassment. Mahnoor, a Lahore-based influencer and model, shared a viral video alleging that the producer sent her inappropriate, late-night direct messages (DMs) even after his marriage to his wife, Dua.
Mahnoor also questioned Hania Aamir’s friendship with Umer, pointing out the conflict of interest given Hania’s role as a Goodwill Ambassador for Pakistan. She argued that the actress should prioritize supporting safe spaces for girls rather than maintaining ties with someone accused of exploiting young women online.
In response, Hania released a clear statement, distancing herself from Umer Mukhtar and condemning harassment in any form:
“I hold a zero-tolerance stance toward harassment, exploitation, and any conduct that compromises the safety and dignity of women and girls. I support the courage it takes to come forward and stand firmly for environments where every woman and girl feels safe, heard, and protected. In light of the concerns raised, I have chosen to distance myself from the individual being discussed. Any perceived association should not be interpreted as endorsement of another person's actions.”
The actress emphasized her ongoing commitment to accountability, respect, and fostering safer spaces across industries. She reiterated the importance of challenging harmful behavior and supporting victims, maintaining that women’s dignity and safety should always be a top priority.
