In a revealing podcast interview, Khalilur Rehman Qamar detailed the traumatic events of his kidnapping. He expressed his initial reluctance to file an FIR because the kidnappers mentioned the names of actors Noman Ijaz and Saba Qamar during the ordeal. "I despise Noman Ijaz, but he is a very good actor. Despite my differences with Saba Qamar, I admire her acting. These are not the kind of people who would do such a thing," Qamar explained, suggesting that the kidnappers aimed to confuse and mentally disturb him.
The scriptwriter highlighted the stark contrast between the support he received from his Indian fans and the hostility and mockery he faced in Pakistan. "I didn't know the kidnappers' motives. I was just worried about my wife and daughters. When they tortured me, I told them to kill me if they wanted," he added, sharing the deep psychological impact the incident had on him.

The kidnapping and robbery took place last week in Lahore, where Qamar was lured under the pretense of discussing a drama project. According to the police report, a woman called Qamar and invited him to her house. Upon his arrival, he was abducted by armed men. The kidnappers tortured Qamar and demanded money, which he paid before being released. The Sundar police station in Lahore registered a case based on Qamar's statement.
