Mahira Khan Reveals Why Her Eyebrows Once Became a Director’s Biggest Concern
Pakistani superstar Mahira Khan opened up about the role criticism has played in shaping her career while attending a Palestine fundraising event in London, where she joined members of the British-Pakistani community in support of humanitarian relief efforts.
The charity gathering, organized brought together supporters of the Palestinian cause for an evening focused on fundraising and awareness. Alongside meeting fans and interacting with attendees, Mahira participated in a candid question-and-answer session that offered a glimpse into both her professional journey and personal outlook.
One of the questions directed at the actress centered on the criticism she has received over the years and whether any of it had positively influenced her growth as a performer.
Mahira admitted that constructive feedback has always been an important part of her career.
“Ooh, lots. Lots, by the way. I remember so much, actually. I take criticism well, I feel. Well, I don’t know. I’m not sure. But I don’t mind listening to someone telling me, ‘Listen, this is something that you didn’t do right,'” she shared with a smile.
As she reflected on her early days in television, Mahira recalled a memorable lesson from acclaimed director Mehreen Jabbar, who worked with her on her debut drama.
According to the actress, Jabbar pointed out one of her most recognizable on-screen traits – her highly expressive eyebrows.
“For instance, my eyebrows, right? So, my first drama was with Mehreen Jabbar, who is a brilliant director, right? And she said to me, what is going on with that? And I’m like, I know, I have a problem. I’m too expressive and they go everywhere, right? And she’s like, yeah, but control it,” Mahira recalled, drawing laughter from the audience.
The lighthearted anecdote added a personal touch to an event otherwise focused on raising funds for Palestine. Throughout the evening, Mahira engaged warmly with attendees, answered questions from fans, and voiced her support for humanitarian initiatives aimed at helping Palestinians.
The conversation also shifted to her fellow actors when she was asked which actress she would most like to collaborate with in the future from a list that included Sajal Aly, Hania Aamir, and Iqra Aziz.
Mahira responded diplomatically, saying she shares mutual respect and a friendly relationship with all three actresses. However, she clarified that they are not part of her close inner circle, explaining that their demanding work schedules rarely allow them the opportunity to spend time together.
The actress has consistently shown support for Palestine-related causes over the years. This is not the first time she has partnered with Luxe Events UK for a fundraising initiative. During an earlier event in London, she made headlines for wearing a striking green gown inspired by the colors of the Palestinian flag, a gesture that was widely appreciated by attendees.
Professionally, Mahira continues to remain one of Pakistan’s busiest and most celebrated stars. She was recently seen in Love Guru, Neelofar, and Aag Lagay Basti Main, adding to an already impressive body of work that includes acclaimed performances in Razia, Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay, Aik Hai Nigar, Sadqay Tumharay, Bin Roye, and Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad.

Noor Bukhari: Remarrying first husband was Allah’s plan
In an interview, Noor discussed her personal life, marriage, faith and career. She also spoke about her relationships with fellow stars and how her faith led her to leave the glitz and glamour of the entertainment industry in pursuit of a more peaceful relationship with God.
The former actor revealed that she had remarried her first husband in 2020 after the couple divorced in 2012. In between, Noor was married to Wali Hamid Ali Khan for two years. “I didn’t think it would ever happen, but it was by Allah’s will. When I left everything and turned to His path, I was rewarded,” she shared, adding, “Or maybe it was that our love never ended.”
Noor shared that the couple now had a beautiful relationship. “I think it was faith that we met again. I have four kids now, Thank God. He is a very good man. I always used to tell my father that I wanted to marry a man who treated me just like he did, and I found one. My husband treats me like I am a princess,” she said.
Detailing her decision to exit the entertainment industry, the former actor noted that she “just knew” it was time for her to leave “and focus on my soul.” She added, “I think we do not know when our lives will end, so I wanted to do something to make Allah happy, as I had already done what made me happy.”
Sharing that this wasn’t an easy decision for her, Noor stated, “When my father passed away, that was a huge transition for me, as he used to accompany me and be my shield in the entertainment world. After he passed, I told myself that this was enough.”
Noor also shared that she used to do Punjabi and Urdu films, along with commercials, saying she was also modelling. “I was doing everything,” she said, adding, “Now that I know I accomplished so much at a young age, I feel content having left.”
She further advised other actors to take the same step once they had fulfilled their journey. “I would also tell fellow actors that you should step down with respect one day so you can be missed,” the former actor said.
Discussing her time in the industry, Noor shared her views on fake people. She revealed that she had many arguments with fellow heroines, particularly Reema Khan. “I was at an age where I loved the idea of competition. There used to be so many fights between the heroines on set too. I saw a picture of me and Reema the other day. We all used to be enemies, and everyone used to realise that from the way we acted on set,” she recalled.
Moving beyond the drama, however, Noor shared that she had invited Reema as a guest on her first-ever morning show, which the latter accepted without hesitation. “I called her once to my show, even though we had a lot of history. I had also misbehaved with her, and she had with me too. I called her, and she came with grace. She opened my morning show by appearing on it,” Noor said.
She added that Reema “is a very good human being.”
Discussing another previous co-star, Noor spoke highly of Meera, describing her as one of the most genuine celebrities in the industry. “I have never had any problems with her,” she said. “Whenever she needs me, she calls. She is a very good human being compared to other actors,” the former actor noted.
She noted that when her father passed away, Meera was one of her most supportive friends. “When my father passed, so many people came when there were cameras around. Meera came alone, that too after a few days and not in front of any media. She sat down for three to four hours with me and came to discuss my life and console me,” Noor said.
Further, she argued that social media platforms like TikTok allowed young stars the privilege of not working as hard as her generation did to gain popularity. “Even TikTokers are stars now, and it isn’t difficult anymore. I would say that Reema, Meera, Resham, Sana, Saima Ji and I had to put in so much effort and achieve success after so long,” she said.
The former actor also touched on working with Shaan Shahid, with whom she starred in Mujhe Chaand Chahiye and the Punjabi film Zill-e-Shah. “I was lucky that I got to work with Shaan. Whenever someone asks me what to watch, I always give them those films,” she shared.
Noor left the entertainment industry in 2017 to lead a more religious and family-focused life.

‘I Am Absolutely Fine’: Imran Ashraf Reacts to Shocking Fake Death News
Imran Ashraf has had to do something no celebrity should ever have to do and that is to assure the world that he is still alive.
The actor recently found himself at the centre of a bizarre social media hoax after AI-generated videos falsely claimed that he had passed away. The fabricated clips spread across social media, leaving some fans genuinely confused about what had happened.
The videos were particularly convincing because they featured digitally created versions of familiar Pakistani personalities, including journalists and celebrities. As the content circulated, the false reports began taking on a life of their own.
Imran eventually stepped in to put the rumours to rest himself.
Taking to his Instagram story, the actor shared a direct message for his followers, writing, “ALHAMDULILLAH I AM ABSOLOUTLY FINE ITS A FAKE NEWS NEED YOUR PRAYERS.”
His message made it clear that there was no truth behind the death reports and that he was perfectly fine.
Among the fabricated content circulating online were videos featuring AI-generated versions of actor Bilal Abbas, former cricketer Shahid Afridi and journalist Mansoor Ali Khan. The use of familiar faces appeared to give the fake reports an added sense of credibility, making the hoax even more disturbing.
One video took the deception a step further by showing what appeared to be Imran Ashraf’s funeral. Such content can easily mislead viewers who encounter it without knowing that the footage has been digitally manipulated.
Unfortunately, Imran is not the first Pakistani celebrity to become the target of an AI-powered death hoax.
Earlier this year, veteran singer Tahira Syed was also forced to respond after false reports about her death began circulating online. She later appeared in a video to confirm that she was alive and healthy, while reminding people to check the authenticity of information before believing or sharing it.
