Nida Yasir: “If My Husband Wants to Marry Again, I Can’t Stop Him”

Pakistani show host and actress Nida Yasir has addressed her husband Yasir Nawaz’s recent comments about second marriages.

During a podcast with his wife Nida and brother Danish Nawaz, Yasir jokingly suggested that the government should pass a law requiring wives to arrange a second marriage for their husbands every 15 years, even proposing that wives who refuse should face imprisonment.

In response, Nida remarked, “Those who thunder, do not rain,” explaining that Yasir repeats the same joke in every interview.

When asked about Yasir’s comments on second marriages during her appearance on Faisal Qureshi’s podcast, Nida clarified that Yasir was not serious, stating, “If he were serious, I would never have let him say it.” She advised not to take jokes too seriously, as they often create unnecessary tension without any benefit.

Nida also added that if Yasir ever considered a second marriage in old age, there would be nothing she could do about it, as the future is unpredictable.

Faisal Qureshi humorously remarked that Yasir is smart enough not to remarry, noting that a second marriage often complicates life, and it’s wiser to stay content with one wife.
