Sajal Aly Working For Jemima Gold Smith’s Romantic Comedy

Prime Minister Imran Khan’s former wife Jemima Goldsmith is writing and producing her first romantic comedy ‘What’s love got to do with it?’ under her production house ‘Instinct Production’. According to the reports, she will be collaborating with Shekhar Kapur who is an Indian film-maker who grabbed the 2007 Oscar award for ‘Elizabeth: The Golden Age’.

‘What’s love got to do with it?’ is a cross-cultural romantic comedy and is described as ‘a story of identities’ and ‘cultural clashes and fundamentalism’. The team has signed Hollywood stars Emma Thompson and Lily James, and the British actor Shazad Latif. The film is also set to star British actors Asim Chaudhry, Rob Brydon, the veteran Indian actor Shabana Azmi, and our very own Sajal Aly.

The BBC Asian Network reporter Haroon Rashid confirmed that Sajal Aly is going to make her international debut and is currently in London shooting for the film. A retweet by Jemima Smith also tells us that the Pakistani actress Sajal Aly and the veteran actress Shabana Azmi are the part of the project.
