Sidra Aziz has publicly defended her sister, renowned actor Iqra Aziz, after a social media user claimed that Iqra’s marriage to actor and writer Yasir Hussain has adversely affected her professional trajectory.
The online discussion originated when a netizen insisted that Iqra Aziz’s career opportunities diminished after her wedding, stating, “Why no one talks about the fact that Iqra Aziz had such a promising career… until she decided to marry a munh phatt badtameez [outspoken ill-mannered person] and now no one wants to sign her.”
Addressing the comment directly, Sidra dismissed the allegation, urging people to “stop assuming stories about people’s lives.” She clarified that her sister has recently “filmed a Netflix series” and, while she is currently caring for her two children, she is reviewing scripts and will begin a new project soon.
In contrast, many users rallied in support of the actress. One person challenged the societal notion that marriage ends a career, commenting, “So being married means ur career is no more? Ajeeb [strange]!”
