Wasim Akram Breaks Down Talking About His First Wife
In a deeply emotional interview, Wasim Akram recalled the painful journey he and Huma undertook in 2009. The couple was on an air ambulance from Lahore to Singapore when they had to make an unscheduled stop in Chennai for refueling. It was during this layover that Huma fell unconscious on the plane and had to be rushed to a local hospital.
Despite not having Indian visas, the couple received invaluable assistance from locals, airport authorities, and the government, allowing them to access the necessary medical care. Huma was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU), but tragically, she never regained consciousness. Her passing was attributed to heart and kidney-related complications. Wasim Akram vividly described the heart-wrenching five days they spent in Chennai, watching helplessly as Huma's condition deteriorated.
