Popular Pakistani actor and television host Fahad Mustafa has landed at the center of an online debate after his recent appearance on Something Haute’s talk show The Haute Talk drew criticism over his outfit choice rather than the actual conversation.
The actor, who appeared alongside Mehwish Hayat in an interview hosted by Amna Isani, opted for an extremely casual look by wearing shorts during the session. While Fahad appeared completely comfortable with his styling choice and openly stated that he does not care about public opinion regarding his fashion, social media users had plenty to say after clips from the interview began circulating online.
The interview was initially meant to promote the duo’s upcoming horror-comedy film Zombied, but much of the attention quickly shifted toward Fahad Mustafa’s dressing style and body language during the conversation.
Many viewers expressed disappointment, arguing that public personalities should maintain a certain level of decorum, especially during formal interviews. Several users pointed out that the setting involved senior women present in the room and believed the actor’s relaxed attire did not suit the occasion.
One social media user commented that an interview is a formal setting and not a casual hangout, adding that celebrities should understand how to dress and sit appropriately in front of others. Another viewer shared that while casual fashion is acceptable, every occasion carries its own sense of etiquette, particularly in professional gatherings.
Among the reactions, one comment gained notable traction online after a user questioned where society was heading in the name of “freedom of expression,” stressing that modern fashion should not come at the expense of basic manners and cultural values.
