After a ten-year silence, ‘Pakistan Idol’ is making a powerful comeback and this time, it’s bigger, bolder, and far more star-studded. Among the most anticipated revelations? Heartthrob actor and singer Fawad Khan will be gracing the judges’ panel, setting the tone for a new era of musical excellence.
The singing reality show, modeled after Simon Fuller’s globally successful “Idol” franchise, originally aired between December 2013 and April 2014. Back then, it was judged by big names like Ali Azmat, Hadiqa Kiani, and Bushra Ansari. Despite its short-lived run, it left a lasting impression on Pakistani audiences.
Now, with MHL Global securing rights from Fremantle to reboot the franchise, the stage is set for a spectacular return. This time, Fawad Khan will be joined by an extraordinary lineup of music royalty: Zeb Bangash, the soulful voice behind many indie hits; Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, the qawwali maestro; and Bilal Maqsood, the iconic Strings musician. The judges' bench itself promises a harmony of genres and generations.
