A new controversy has sparked in Pakistan’s entertainment circle after morning show host Nida Yasir made remarks about food delivery riders that many viewers found dismissive and insensitive. Her comments, which aired during a recent episode of her show, quickly drew backlash online and actress Fiza Ali is among the latest celebrities to publicly call her out.
Nida Yasir, known for dominating the morning show space for nearly two decades, is no stranger to criticism for her blunt takes. But this time, her remarks about delivery workers, who already face difficult working conditions, did not sit well with audiences.
During the segment, Nida complained that many riders arrive without carrying change and suggested that they often try to “trick” customers into paying extra. She added that customers should always keep the exact amount prepared and insisted that riders should be fully responsible for carrying change.
Her comments, however, overlooked the realities faced by delivery workers across Pakistan. In a country where food delivery has become a daily part of urban life, riders often navigate bad weather, unsafe traffic, and long-distance routes, many times earning far less than the effort they put in.
