Veteran actress Bushra Ansari has sparked a fresh conversation online after questioning how television host Iqrar-ul-Hassan’s three wives appear to maintain a cordial relationship with one another.

Speaking about the unusual family dynamic, Ansari said she was less interested in asking why the arrangement exists and more curious about how the three women manage to live alongside each other peacefully.
“Three wives are laughing with each other? How is that possible? I’m not asking why, I’m asking how,” she said, expressing disbelief at the idea of multiple wives being able to share a household without the jealousy and tension she associates with sharing a husband.
She went on to compare the situation to the relationship between sisters, suggesting that even if a woman is close to her husband, accepting another woman in that position would naturally be difficult. She questioned how the three wives could comfortably interact and even share the same home.
The actress then expanded on what she considers the emotional difficulty of sharing a spouse, saying that a woman’s feelings would remain the same regardless of another wife’s appearance or circumstances.
“One, two, three… all three of them, all three wives. Having three wives in one household is extremely difficult. It’s hard to share your husband,” she said, arguing that such feelings are part of human nature.
Ansari also turned the discussion around by asking viewers to consider the situation from the opposite perspective. Rather than focusing only on whether a man can have multiple wives, she questioned whether a woman could similarly have three husbands and maintain the same emotional balance.
“Can a woman have three husbands? Can she go to three different men? Wouldn’t it affect her heart? It would, wouldn’t it,” she asked, deliberately shifting the conversation toward how society understands relationships differently depending on gender.
