The Indian court halts The Legend of Maula Jatt release following a legal challenge that emerged just ahead of its scheduled debut in the Indian state of Punjab. This comes as a major setback for the highly anticipated Pakistani film, which stars Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan. The film was expected to make a significant impact in Indian cinemas but has now been delayed indefinitely due to the legal proceedings initiated by a petition.
Why the Indian court Halts The Legend Of Maula Jatt Release?
The release of The Legend of Maula Jatt has faced multiple hurdles since its announcement, with the most recent being a petition filed in an Indian court that has temporarily blocked its screening. Nadeem Mandviwala, the film's distributor, confirmed the news, expressing frustration over the legal obstacles but remained hopeful for a future release. “We have to wait for the court's decision before moving forward with the film's release,” Mandviwala said. The movie was set to be a proud moment for Pakistani cinema in India, following the ban on Pakistani artists after the 2016 Uri attack.
