The veteran soulful singer, Abida Perveen has been announced as the receiver of ‘Pakistan Civil Awards’ by President Arif Alvi on the occasion of Independence day. The singer has been nominated for her excellent services in the field of art and her dedication which is beyond any limits.
Abida gee will be conferred with ‘Nishan-e-Imtiaz which will be her fourth national accolade.
The A-list actor Shaan Masood took to Twitter to praise the singer and wrote, “Her voice is the vocal identity of Pakistan. Her voice as pure as the Land of the pure it shows the path of the sufi,” the Waar star shared. “Shukriya Pakistan for honouring her with Nishaan-i-Imtiaz.”
In 2012, Pakistan’s second-highest civilian award the Hilal-e-Imtiaz was bestowed upon Chaap Tilak singer by the then president, Asif Ali Zardari. She was also honoured with Sitara-I-Imtiaz by General Pervez Musharraf in 2005. He first-ever national award by President’s Pride of Performance in 1984.
Apart from Abida Parveen, Bushra Ansari and Talat Hussain will be awarded with ‘Sitar-i-Imtiaz while Resham, Humayun Saeed, Sakina Samo and Sarmad Sehbai will be honored with Prime of Performance.
