Renowned Pakistani rapper Talha Anjum, one half of the iconic duo Young Stunners, has finally spoken up about the growing criticism surrounding his lyrics and lifestyle portrayal. Despite being celebrated as one of the pioneers of Urdu rap, Anjum has often faced backlash for allegedly promoting smoking, aggression, and “reckless youth culture” through his music.
In a candid conversation during a recent podcast appearance, Talha Anjum addressed the accusations head-on. He made it clear that his songs are reflections of personal experiences and societal truths, not instructions to live a certain way.
“People often confuse storytelling with influence,” he explained. “My lyrics come from real emotions and situations that many of us have lived through. I never tell anyone to pick up a cigarette or fight someone — I just tell stories.”
He also emphasized that listeners tend to overlook the underlying messages in his music, focusing instead on surface-level visuals or words. “Every verse has layers. Just because I use raw language doesn’t mean I’m glorifying it,” he said firmly.
